Search terms
A name or location entered in a sponsored search box passes directly to the third-party provider that operates the tool. This site does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
Emails and contact submissions may be kept long enough to answer the message and maintain the exchange. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Automatic Technical Data
Web servers and analytics services may receive an IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, and timestamps. Cookies or similar tools may remember preferences, measure use, support advertising, and help search partners operate. Browser settings can reject cookies, though some functions may then work differently.
How Data Is Used
Collected data may be used to operate and secure the site, answer messages, understand general traffic, improve page usefulness, prevent misuse, and support advertising or search functions. Kentucky's Open Records Act does not turn private site correspondence into a government record because this site is not a public agency.
When Data Is Shared
Information may reach search partners when a visitor uses their tool, analytics vendors, advertising networks, service providers that keep the site operating, or law enforcement when a valid legal order requires disclosure. Each linked government or commercial site has its own privacy terms. An outbound link does not transfer control of that destination to this site.
Security and Retention
Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet transmission or storage system can promise complete security. Data is retained only as long as reasonably needed for its stated purpose, legal duties, dispute handling, or system protection.
Age and User Choices
This site is not directed to people under 18 and does not knowingly seek their personal data. Depending on applicable law, a user may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information supplied directly to the site. Requests cannot control records held by GCDC, KDOC, courts, or third-party search providers.
